Attendance

Although we are not requiring on-site attendance, the state is requiring all students to log into their courses and MAKE PROGRESS in those courses. This will be considered online attendance. In addition, all students are required for the entirety of the 2020-2021 school year to have a two-way course specific conversation with a VLA staff member TWICE A WEEK. Students can connect with VLA staff for these two-way conversations via text, phone call, email, Google Chat, Google Classroom, & Edgenuity. Students are able to log into their courses 24/7. Students have access to VLA staff Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:00pm and 6:00-9:00pm, as well as Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00-9:00pm, and the VLA building is open to students Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 9:00-1:00pm.

Continuity of Learning Response Plan

As a result of COVID-19 and the closing of school buildings for the 2019-2020 school year, all Michigan school districts must submit a Continuity of Learning and COVID-19 Response Plan (“Plan”) in order to continue to receive state aid for operations. Although schools are closed and not providing in-person instruction, teaching and learning must continue. Here is the link to VLA's Continuity of Learning Response Plan
